»Facing Justice – Adolf Eichmann on Trial«
On April 6, 2011, the 50th anniversary of the beginning of proceedings against Adolf Eichmann, the »Facing Justice – Eichmann on Trial« exhibition was opened at the Topography of Terror Documentation Centre.
The exhibition is designed around the original film footage from the trial. Focusing not only on Eichmann’s testimony, it portrays the tension between the survivors’ testimonies and the strategy of the defence. Over a hundred witnesses testified in the trial against Eichmann, and visitors can listen to and watch several excerpts of these accounts at media stations throughout the exhibition.
The worldwide media attention Eichmann’s trial drew is depicted with the help of news coverage from, among others, the two German post-war states, Israel, Hungary and the USA.
Concept:
The exhibition was jointly created by the Foundation Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, the Topography of Terror Foundation and the House of the Wannsee Conference Memorial and Educational site.
Exhibition curators:
The exhibition was curated by Dr. Ulrich Baumann, Foundation Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, and Lisa König-Hauff, Topography of Terror Foundation.
