Picture: The Exhibition on display at the New Synagogue Berlin

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of November 1938 the Foundation New Synagogue Berlin, the Foundation Topography of Terror and the Foundation Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe jointly put together the exhibition »Fire! Anti-Jewish Terror on Kristallnacht in November 1938«.

The exhibition communicates a new view of the occurrences which took place in November 1938 to the visitors. In addition to the documentation of the violations against the Jews in the German Reich, their synagogues, places of business and homes, early autobiographical texts from various Jewish communities can be listened to via audio points. Photographs and series of pictures which until now have never been seen also take centre stage in the exhibition.
With the opening of the exhibition a catalog was published. Besides the pictures and the documentation of the exhibition, essays informing about the perpetrators and the behavior of the population.

For the first time the exhibition was shown at the New Synagogue Berlin. From January 25 to March 3rd, 2013 the exhibition was opened for visitors in the Stadtmuseum Riesa. Together with all partners the Foundation Memorial plans to expand the exhibition. The extended exhibition will be shown from November 7, 2013 to the end of March, 2014 in the Topography of Terror Documentation Center.
