A further focus of the Information Centre is to present the persecution and destruction of the Jews under Nazi domination throughout Europe.
In the Room of Sites, historical films and photographs on some 200 localities of the persecution and destruction of Jews and other groups of victims are presented. These include mass shootings, extermination and concentration camps, ghettos and sites of »euthanasia«, as well as deportation routes and death marches. Special attention is given to the seven largest extermination camps and Babi Yar. Witnesses from the time can be heard at audio stations. There are reports and memories relating to these eight places. Visitors can enter into a kind of undisturbed dialogue with these witnesses and thus gain an impression of individual experiences of the victims with violence and death.
