»Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Guide to the Information Centre«
Since its inauguration in 2005, millions of people have visited the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin. Whereas numerous books have already been written about the Field of Stelae, this book is a unique publication. For the first time ever, it presents comprehensive information about the permanent exhibition housed in the subterranean Information Centre and offers behind the scenes insight into the research and eventual creation of the exhibition. With the personal fates of victims and the geographical dimension of the Holocaust as its centre of focus, the permanent exhibition documents the persecution and extermination of European Jews as well as the historical sites of these crimes. In addition, an overview is provided of the highly diverse offer of educational programmes, events and archives which the Information Centre offers complementary to the permanent exhibition, such as the testimonies preserved in the Video Archive or the diverse databases with information on the individual victims and the numerous memorial sites currently found throughout Europe.

»›I am the Voice of the Six Million‹. The Video Archive at the Information Centre«

»I am the voice of the six million tortured and murdered Jews, and I am also the voice of the lucky few – the voice of the survivors«, said Sabina Van Der Linden-Wolanski in a speech during the opening of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe on 10 May, 2005. Speaking on behalf of those who were murdered and at the same time speaking for one’s self – many survivors see this as their task and responsibility. This book deals with aspects such as the history, meaning and analysis of video testimonies, and the opportunities and problems of presenting such testimonies. The volume also contains analyses of life stories recorded specifically for the Video Archive at the Information Centre underneath the Field of Stelae.

Brochure – »Psychiatry under National Socialism«
On 26 November 2010 the German Association for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (DGPPN) held a commemorative event to honour the memory of those who suffered through one of the darkest chapters in the history of the discipline. Under National Socialism, psychiatric patients were the victims of unethical research, forced sterilisation and murder, and many psychiatrists were forced to emigrate.
During the commemorative event, the DGPPN asked victims and their families for forgiveness for the pain and injustice they endured in the name of German psychiatry and at the hands of German psychiatrists.
The enclosed DVD contains a recording of the event in the original German and a dubbed English version.

»Architecture of Remembrance. Nazi Crimes in the European Culture of Memory«
From the autumn of 2004 to the spring of 2005, a lecture series was organised on the »Architecture of Memory« by the Foundation Memorial in cooperation with the Academy of the Arts. The series focused on architecturally significant monuments and memorial sites. Internationally renowned architects and artists presented their planned or already realised concepts and designs. The volume provides readers with insight into the multifaceted landscape of memorial architecture and culture in individual European countries. The book also offers readers a survey of 50 of the architecturally most important sites of remembrance in Europe.

»Profiteurs of the Nazi System? German Firms and the Third Reich«
In the spring and summer of 2004, the Foundation Memorial joined hands with the Foundation »Memory, Responsibility and Future « in organising a lecture series on the topic »German Firms and Their Entanglement in the National Socialist System. Historical Guilt, Compensation and Action by Business Firms Today«. This series was also a response to the debate regarding the participation of the firm Degussa in the construction of the memorial in 2003. Based on individual examples, established experts in the field discussed the behavior of German firms in the Third Reich and how this past was dealt with after 1945. Proceeding from these lectures and drawing on the most recent research findings, the book will provide a differentiated look at this thematic focus. The publication was sponsored by the »Remembrance and Furture« Fund and by the Deutsche Bahn.
