Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe with exhibition at the Information Centre

The Holocaust Memorial – Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe – was evaluated 2017, in March by a certified inspector (Reisen für Alle) and certified by the testing center with the certificate »Accessibility tested«partially barrier-free for people with walking difficulties, partially wheelchair accessible, partially barrier-free for the visually impaired, partly barrier-free for blind people, barrier-free for people with hearing impairment, barrier-free for the deaf, barrier-free for people with cognitive impairments – awarded and allowed to run the license plate from August 2017 to July 2020.

Parking for disabled persons
There are four especially marked parking spaces for disabled persons on Cora-Berliner-Straße.

Elevator
The subterranean Information Centre can be accessed via elevator from Cora-Berliner-Straße. Please ask for the assistance of a visitor consultant at the entrance stairway. You will then be accompanied to the exhibition in the elevator. The cabin size is 100 cm x 160 cm.

Individuals with impaired mobility and wheelchair users
The Field of Stelae has 13 axes of entry which are easy to use, especially for persons in wheelchairs, since their slope angle is no more than 8%. They are marked by specially perforated paving stones and in-ground pictographs (wheelchair symbol) at the boundary to the public pavement. The Information Centre is accessible for everyone. There are no barriers or obstacles. Wheelchairs, wheeled walkers or walking canes for the elderly or persons with impaired mobility can be borrowed at the reception desk in the Information Centre for the entire duration of their visit. There is a wheelchair-accessible rest room. Doors and aisles in the Information Centre are at least 90cm wide.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing visitors
You can rent a video tour of the exhibition in International Sign
with English subtitles and German Sign Language with German subtitles at the reception desk. It is free of charge. For further information see  https://www.stiftung-denkmal.de/en/dgs-video.html.

Blind visitors
Blind visitors can borrow an audio descriptive guide at the reception desk (see Free Video or Audio Tours for Visitors with Hearing or Visual Impairment
). A tactile layout of the Information Centre is also available. Guide dogs are permitted in the Information Centre and Field of Stelae.

Disability assistance dogs or guide dogs are permitted in the Information Centre.
