Over the past few years, cracks of different lengths and breadths have been appearing on the sides and/or tops of some of the concrete stelae (slabs) of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe.

It was with deep sorrow that members of the advisory board, the honorary board of trustees and the staff members of the Foundation Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe learned of the death of Max Bächer.

Ralf Wieland, President of the Berlin House of Representatives, will open the exhibition »The unknown extermination camp Kulmhof am Ner – history and remembrance« tomorrow, December 7, 2011, at 6 p.m. at the Foundation New Synagogue – Centrum Judaicum. It is the first exhibition in Germany that deals with the mass murder at Kulmhof between 1941 and 1944.
