City walk »Berlin as a landscape of remembrance«

Please note: The exhibition at the Information Centre will be closed from 12th January to 30th April 2026 inclusive due to renovation work. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to visit the exhibition during this period. However, we will continue to offer our open-air activities, such as our 45-minute guided tours and city walks, but without a subsequent visit to the exhibition.

During the dialogical city walk, which is aimed at all groups of visitors, the memorials supervised by the foundation are visited.
Participants will receive information on the historical background of the respective monuments and the social debates associated with their creation. The design concept is explained. Depending on the interest of the participants, various questions of memory are discussed: Who is thought of and who is not? How are the monuments designed? How are the monuments located in the urban area? How important is the memory of Nazi crimes today?

Due to the partially longer walking distances between the individual memorials (up to 1.5 km) and short-term road closures as a result of surrounding events/demonstrations and similar, unfortunately not all memorials can always be visited during the city walk. Please let us know in the comments field of the booking form if you have any special requests for individual memorials. We will be happy to try to accommodate them as best we can.
