Group tour at the Memorial to the Sinti and Roma of Europe murdered under National Socialism

The tour offers a historical outline and traces the struggle of the civil rights movement of German Sinti and Roma for recognition as victims of National Socialist racial ideology by means of individual biographies.

After the National Socialists came to power, Sinti and Roma were excluded as »gypsies«, persecuted and finally murdered, first in the German Reich and from 1939 in German-occupied Europe. Only in 1982 was the murder of up to 500,000 people officially recognized as genocide.

The participants deal with the memorial site and its design elements and can bring their special interests and questions into the tour.
