Necessary renovation work on the sanitary facilities requires the closure of the Information Centre for three months. The Field of Stelae of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe will remain accessible at all times. The renovation work will begin on 12 January 2026 and will be completed by the end of April 2026.
Guided tours of the Holocaust Memorial can still be booked, and educational programmes for groups visiting the memorial will continue to be offered during the exhibition’s closure.
Uwe Neumärker, Director of the Memorial Foundation, emphasises: »After 20 years of continuous use by almost half a million visitors annually, the renovation of the sanitary facilities in the Information Centre is absolutely necessary. We are very pleased that we can limit the work to this manageable period and look forward to reopening to our guests when visitor numbers begin to increase again in the spring.«
