Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe with exhibition at the Information Centre
The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in the centre of Berlin is the German Holocaust Memorial honouring and remembering the up to six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Located between the Brandenburg Gate and Potsdamer Platz, the Memorial consists of the Field of Stelae designed by Peter Eisenman and the subterranean Information Centre. The admission is free of charge.
The exhibition at the Information Centre documents the persecution and extermination of European Jewry as well as the historic sites of the crimes. Each year, nearly half a million visitors come to the Information Centre.
Opening times of the exhibition at the Information Centre: Apr-Sept: Tue-Sun, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. (last admission 7.15 p.m.); Oct-Mar: Tue-Sun, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. (last admission 6.15 p.m.); Closing days Dec. 24 to 26, Dec. 31 from 4 p.m. The Information Centre is open on all the other holidays including January 1, Easter Monday, Pentecost Monday, May 1 and October 3. There may be a waiting time. The length of the waiting period depends on the day's events.
