The international advisory council has selected the concept of media artist Yael Bartana on January 9th. The film is to be realized until the end of May 2018. The competition was financed by the Federal Government Commissioner of Culture and Media, Minister of State Prof. Monika Gr\u00fctters.<br \/>\nThe new film will be shown for the first time on June 3th, 2018 during a ceremony on behalf of the 10th \u00bbbirthday\u00ab of the Memorial \u2013 attended by the Federal President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Advisory Council:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">Susanne Pfeffer, Director of the Museum of Modern Art, Frankfurt<br \/>\nDr. Thomas K\u00f6hler,\u00a0 <\/span>Director Berlinische Galerie, Board of the Foundation of Public Law<br \/>\nG\u00fcnter Dworek,\u00a0 Federal Executive of the Lesbian and Gay Association Germany (LSVD)<br \/>\nSabine Deres,\u00a0 Head of Department K41, Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media<br \/>\nDr. Klaus Lederer,\u00a0 Mayor, Cultural and European Senator of Berlin<br \/>\nMichael Elmgreen,\u00a0 artist of the Memorial<br \/>\nIngar Dragset, artist of the Memorial<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Background to the anniversary of the Memorial:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">On 12 December 2003, the German Bundestag passed a resolution to establish a memorial to the homosexuals persecuted under National Socialism. The aims of the memorial are to pay tribute to the homosexuals persecuted and murdered under National Socialism, to preserve memory of this injustice and to serve as a lasting symbol against intolerance, hostility and the marginalisation of gays and lesbians. The Memorial to the Homosexuals Persecuted under the National Socialist Regime was inaugurated on 27 May 2008 in Berlin. The impetus for the memorial came from the initiative \u00bbRemember the Homosexual Victims of National Socialism\u00ab and the Lesbian and Gay Federation in Germany (LSVD). The Foundation is in charge of the Memorial to the Homosexuals Persecuted under the National Socialist Regime and is financed by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7c1d6fb elementor-widget elementor-widget-template\" data-id=\"7c1d6fb\"
